Stan Lee may have created the superheroes we know and love today, such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Spiderman, but Stan Lee is a hero himself! While he is most well known for writing comic books and being the former editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, Stan Lee is far more than just his comics. He has his own foundation, The Stan Lee Foundation, which is dedicated to providing literacy and arts education throughout the United States, and he also likes to helps out communities in need!
After Hurricane Irma passed through Florida, there are still many without power and even more who are dealing with repairing the damage. In the light of this, Stan Lee is headed to the Tampa Bay area next week to attend Tampa Bay’s MegaCon to help raise money for those affected. “What’s going on with the weather is so horrible and the people affected by it”, Lee said, “”I just want to say if there is anything I can do to help, that’s the main thing; I want to be there”.
A portion of the tickets from MegaCon will be donated to Feeding Florida, a network of Food Banks, and there will even be a special auction! Auction items vary, from artwork from Stan Lee’s collection to an exclusive dinner with the legend himself.
Tampa Bay’s MegaCon will be at the Tampa Convention Center from Friday, September 29th through Sunday, October 1st, and we cannot wait to see how much Stan Lee raises for the Florida community.
