Stan Lee Visits Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Las Vegas to Share an Important Message: “RESPECT FOR ALL”

In November, 2016, comic-book legend Stan Lee made a special appearance at Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. in Las Vegas to share a simple but important message: “Let’s respect each other to solve America’s challenges together.” This is the core focus of Lee’s Hands of Respect campaign.

The idea for this campaign was set in motion one night after Lee and his daughter J.C. were watching television. J.C., co-creator of Hands of Respect, commented about the U.S. flag pin that many politicians wear. She asked, “why couldn’t there be a solidarity pin that anyone–regardless of race or political affiliation–could wear.” Days later, Lee designed the Hands of Respect Lapel Pin which features two clasped hands – one black, one white – with the word “Respect.” And after a lifetime of envisioning superheroes that could make the world a better place, Lee launched the nonpartisan and nonpolitical Hands of Respect campaign to promote a culture of respect among all communities across the nation.

During his visit to Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Las Vegas, not only did Lee launch what he said is the “most important project he’s ever worked on,” he was honored with the key to the Las Vegas Strip and November 18, 2016 was declared Stan Lee and Marvel Avengers Day on the Las Vegas Strip.
