Matthew Wells from Temple of Geek recently visited Las Vegas and stopped by Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. to enlist as an official S.T.A.T.I.O.N. recruit! Below is a recap of Matthew’s visit:
His adventure began in our 8,000 square feet retail store! Matthew said “there are plenty of Funko POP!s, shirts, mugs, buttons, and everything else that you might want to have a superhero on and it’s more than enough to keep you busy until you’re directed to see your recruiting agent who will lead you into the training station.”
After a brief introduction, he was ready for our training program to become an official S.H.I.E.L.D. agent! He was given a clearance level by Agent Maria Hill herself and granted access to exclusive intelligence files, classified studies and experiments that explore the history and scientific origins of The Avengers!
Matthew was then able to immerse himself into the Marvel Cinematic Universe! He got to see an extensive range of Avengers operational equipment like Captain America’s uniform and shield, Bruce Banner’s laboratory, Hawkeye and Black Widow uniforms and weapons, Vision’s birth cradle, Ant-Man’s helmet, a preserved Chitauri from the Battle of New York, Iron Man’s MK 45 suit and the Hulkbuster suit. Matthew stated, “as a superhero fan, there’s plenty to delve into and no time limit on how long you can loiter, look, and learn.” He was amazed by the level of details!
Matthew even got to see how Iron Man uses his suit through our VR eye tracking simulator. You control where Iron Man aims by looking with only your eyes and locking in on targets by blinking. “My score was 5/10, which, an agent assured me, was great as the normal score is a 2/10. I’m over twice as OK at this than normal people.” We were pretty impressed by your skills, Matthew! Maybe you’ll be the next Iron Man, we have plenty of suits for you to pick from!
Matthew stated, “It’s all in good fun and for the Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, a worthwhile way to spend some time the next time you’re visiting Las Vegas!”
